Cover Reveal (2)

Based on feedback I've been getting, I've made some changes to the cover. Unfortunately, I do not know how to use Photoshop, or any of the imagining programs. So, I'm pretty limited in what I can do. I hope this cover is more appealing. Please let me know what you think.

I like it. I would love to read the book.

Not having read your stories, visually I think the glasses distract from the silhouette and the text on the bottom should either be orange or blue... the pink doesn't match the color scheme.

But then again, maybe the glasses are important but something about their design looks off. I think it's the color, because the lenses are blue, it makes it look like we can see through the silhouette... I don't know, maybe that's an effect you were going for.

I printed a collection of my poetry once and designed my own cover, back when I was in college. I remember it was a lot of fun, I think I did it through a site called Lulu publishing.

Thank you, Clarissa and Tanya.

Oceanfullofbottles, Thank you for your input. I agree about the pink. I sure didn't select pink, but it does look pink. I'll change that color for sure. I'm not competent enough to change the color of the glasses. Maybe, if I make the figure a little smaller, the transparency issue won't seem as great, but then I have to change all the fonts. Not sure I want to do that. Thank you for your input.

Hey, Richard,
I like the concept. Now, I'm not an expert so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I'd make the fonts bigger so they stand out more and you can see it when it's in the size it will be on Amazon. I agree with the person who said the shades make it look as if we're looking through the silhouette. Can they be a tad bit darker?

Hope my rambling helps.

I, too, have no knowledge of the Photoshop, but that looks a lot better than I could pull off. It looks fitting, to me. I like it. :)

I'm with you, Richard. Can't do photoshop at all! But I really like this cover. The blue against black is startling, which I think is excellent. You definitely want a potential buyer to be drawn to the book. But I already know the quality of your writing and don't care WHAT the cover looks like!!

I'm with JL about the bigger fonts. Otherwise, looks great!

Thank you, Ann and Emily. I'd like to make the font larger, and will if I can make it look right.

I will refrain from giving feedback on the cover because I don't think I can say anything of value. I look forward to reading your stories.

Julia, that's okay. I'm just glad you stopped by.

I like this...like the glasses, like the hair...very current and 'now.' And I don't see pink, I see shades of orange, which I like. To me, it's eye-catching.

Thank you, Helene. You have a photographer's eyes, so what you say is reassuring.

I know what you're going through as far as learning how to make covers. I like the image and I think it gives the book a mysterious kind of mood. My main suggestion is to use caps for the titles and your name. Look at the titles of other books and you'll see most are in caps. I'm finding more and more the cover is so important.

Cindy, thank you, I'll take a look at more covers and pay attention to the font.

I'm no good with Photoshop. Much too complicated for my addled brain. I like it, Richard. It really stands out ~ and I love the imagery. Good luck.
