Google Reader Is Going Away

As probably the whole world knows by now, Google Reader is being discontinued in July 2013. I'm solving the problem, at least for now, by following my favorite blogs by email for those that offer the option. Some don't; all should.

I'm asking that all my followers, if you want to continue being notified of my posts, to please sign up to follow my blog by email. It'll add another email to your inbox, and multiply it by all the others you follow by email, your inbox will become much larger. That is the main drawback. But you will not have to rely on a third party to tell you what's going on.

Already set up Bloglovin which is fantastic and how I receive updates from your blog and all the others I follow. When you sign up (it's free) you can automatically transfer over all your blogs from Google-- zip it's done and you're set to go. I have a Bloglovin' button on my blog to make it easy for others to add me. I've consolidated all my blogs-- wordpress and otherwise, on this one space.

I've set up both Feedly and Bloglovin' and am using both to follow blogs.

Yeah, as Alex said, I just use Feedly.

I tried loading feedly a few weeks ago and had trouble. Due to your comments today, I've successfully added Bloglovin. Thank you very much.

Thanks for letting us know. I will be following you by e-mail. Google drives me nuts sometimes. I tend to prefer to follow people by e-mail anyway.

Thanks for the heads up and the solutions!

Following blogs by email is sound advice. I had no idea that Google Reader is being discontinued - but, then, I'm usually the last to know everything.

I have Bloglovin and Feedly, but not sure which I prefer yet. I've got you added to my list of followers. (:

You're nestled in my Feedly configuration already, Richard. Been there now for a good month or two, I think. Sadly, if I had to follow by email, I'd never get caught up.

I definitely want to access your blogs. Haven't decided yet how to do it, wether bloglovin or feedly. But I also may simply subscribe. Don't want to miss your posts.
