Writing versus Blogging

Lately, I've been writing more and blogging less. I still keep up with the blogs I follow and try to comment when I have something to say. But, honestly, I'm much happier getting some consistent writing done and blogging less. Hopefully, I'll have something new to post before long. I don't want to lose touch with other bloggers.

  1. Balance can be difficult. I'm stunned I've maintained my normal blogging pace the past few months while still writing a thousand words a day. (And I write really slow...)

  2. I think the key is to not lose touch with fellow bloggers, as you have said. Hanging around the virtual water cooler once or twice a week should do the trick. :)

  3. Wow, Alex, that's impressive! I find when I write, I want to blog less.

  5. Hi Richard .. as the others have said - you seem to be striking the right balance.

I'm just trying to get to that point - but I love the support I get from fellow bloggers.

For now I'm just trying to get some different takes on the Olympics up - while it's still apposite.

Good luck with the writing ... we'll still be here .. cheers Hilary

  6. Oh man, I hear this. When I first started my blog I was all over commenting and reading other's. Then I just wasn't finding the time anymore so now I have something of a system... though it doesn't always happen :) haha

Hopefully the writing is going well!

  7. I say go with the writing flow when it hits. Blogging and bloggers will always be around.

  8. Writing is such a joy! I love blogging too, but balance is crucial

  9. Most of the writers I follow take breaks from blogging to write now and again. Most people are very understanding and continue to follow. I believe that if you're a writer, then writing has to come first - otherwise, you lose momentum. (And there are plenty of distractions just waiting in the wings.)

  12. You've got to listen to the muse when she's willing to talk to you. We'll be here when you come up for air.

  13. We all take some time off from blogging every now and then. I just came back from a rather long hiatus, but remember Richard we are always here for you when you come back....

    Good luck on the writing.
